R&D Section Grower / Supervisor

This position will be responsible for growing high quality plants for trials and promotional purposes; developing techniques to evaluate and determine the optimal cultural practices; as well as supervising the R&D Production Team of 1-5 members.  In addition, this position will establish material needs and availability for production of plant material; set up trials and run reports within the R&D Database; oversee plant production and growing; provide R&D team training and development; record keeping of trials.

QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate must have the following skills and abilities:

Proven record of leadership and supervisory experience

• High attention to detail
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent multi-tasking skills, time management and organizational skills
• Proficient computer skills in Excel; capability to learn custom software

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

A minimum of 4-5 years in a horticultural and/or agricultural operation; ideally 2+ years in a horticultural / agricultural propagation facility.

Marketing Specialist

This Marketing Specialist position at Pleasant View Gardens will have responsibility of providing support and manage projects as they relate to the development of marketing programs and materials, including websites, social media, collateral, event management and advertising programs.  Additionally, the responsibilities will include specific duties which result in the smooth operation in the Marketing Department as it interfaces with Pleasant View Gardens and external interfacing companies. 

QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate must have the following skills and abilities:

• High attention to detail
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to follow through on all aspects of assignments
• Ability to act and operate independently with minimal direction from manager
• In-depth understanding of social media platforms
• Proficient in written language: 
• Content development/copywriting
• Document creation
• Edit and proofreading
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher and Access
• Familiarity and ability to quickly learn content management systems (Word Press, Contribute)

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

A BA in Marketing or Communications and 1-3 years related experience.

Pick Up Yard Sales Associate

A Sales Associate will work as a sales team member at Pleasant View Garden’s Pick Up Yard to maximize the live goods sales of Pleasant View Garden’s products; ensure proper spacing, pruning and watering of plants; check and maintain stock levels of all plants; ensure consistent display of signage; reconcile cash with sales receipts; keep operating records for accounting; ensure compliance with established security; sales and record keeping procedures; maintain a positive communication network with customers and management.

QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate must have the following skills and abilities:

• Ability to work independently in a customer service area
• Communicate clearly and professionally
• Thrive in a fast-paced environment 
• Demonstrate Internet and basic math skills
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. and maneuver 150 lbs.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

A High School diploma or equivalent is required.  Horticultural experience is desirable.

Truck Loaders

Pleasant View Gardens is seeking motivated individuals to join our transportation team loading and unloading cages onto trucks in an efficient and safe manner; securing the deliver load; verifying accuracy of order to corresponding trucks; moving trucks to and from loading docks and lining trucks up for runs.

WORK SCHEDULE

This position is scheduled to begin the first week in May and lasts approximately four weeks.

Monday – Friday

4:00 – 9:00 p.m.

QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidates must have the following skills and abilities:

• Possess attention-to-detail and demonstrates accuracy
• Ability to maneuver up to 150 lbs.
• Ability to communicate with transportation supervisor and co-workers
• Ability to read, understand and communicate paperwork and labels
• Professional appearance and nature to interface with customers
• Must be comfortable moving large box trucks
• Prior driving experience
